Jio Institute seeks to have students of international distinction with academic excellence. Mentioned below are the qualities expected from a potential student at Jio Institute. The student attributes are not a list of skills which have been mastered; rather, these attributes encapsulate the defining characteristics of a student at Jio Institute. Admissions

The aim of the Admissions Philosophy of Jio Institute is to ensure that outstanding and most eligible students from across India and the rest of the world are attracted and admitted to the institution. JIO INSTITUTE plans to encourage applications from meritorious students across the spectrum and ensure adequate opportunities for applicants from Indian and foreign countries.

The admissions process at Jio Institute shall commence in January 2021 with a focus on outreach and promotion of the academic programmes through various channels. Jio Institute aims to be the institute of choice for top global talent and is looking for exceptional students whose admissions will follow these guiding principles:

  • Merit based: Applicants to JI will be assessed on individual merit & achievement. The Admission system will lay the maximum emphasis on the individual’s capability and quality for selection to the Institution programmes.

  • Holistic Evaluation for Admission: While JIO INSTITUTE will evaluate the applicants’ academic scores, the admission criteria will not be limited to these test scores. For the evaluation of the applicant multiple parameters, namely academic performance – evidences of individual’s co-curricular and extracurricular accomplishments, perspectives, interview, references, will be considered for evaluation.

  • Multiple entry modes: Jio Institute will not be restrictive regarding the qualifying examinations. The Institution will give applicants the choice to provide score from a selected list of accepted qualifying examinations for each course

  • Diversity: JIO INSTITUTE will be committed to achieve a diverse student population. It will take appropriate steps to create a global student community that is both highly qualified and diverse. This will create an environment to share, learn and grow from one another.

  • Need Blind: At any stage of admission, JIO INSTITUTE will not consider an applicant’s financial situation. On being selected through a merit based admission process – the students’ needs will be evaluated and the Institution will facilitate financial support from internal and external resources.

The admissions criteria for the AI & DS programme includes key dimensions for eligibility, qualifying, screening and selection.

  7. Certain accommodations shall be made for exceptional candidates (outliers) to be considered in the admissions process. A certain number of seats (suggested to be 5% of the intake) may be reserved for applying candidates that show promise that do not meet the stated criteria
